Diodes - Zener - Single

The CDLL5951D is a single-chip Zener diode with a range of functions for applications such as reset, voltage regulation, clamping, current detection and signal level detection. It is designed for a wide range of operations with excellent temperature stability, precise voltage regulation and low current consumption. The wide working voltage range of 3.2 to 20.5 V and its low current consumption make it suitable for a variety of applications.

Working Principle
The working principle of these single-chip Zener diode CDLL5951D is based on the electrostatic field between the two electrodes of the diode. When an applied voltage to the diode exceeds the breakdown voltage, the built-in electric field exceeds the alloy-dioxide barrier, allowing the current to flow through the diode. This in turn creates the Zener breakdown voltage. This Zener breakdown voltage is typically higher than the breakdown voltage and represents the voltage across the diode when forward-biased and reverse-biased.

The CDLL5951D uses a unique combination of highly accurate avalanche breakdown diode structures and ultra-low leakage bipolar transistor to allow a wide range of operating voltages with a minimum of power supply noise. The combination of these two structures allows the CDLL5951D to have an extremely high breakdown voltage and a wide operating temperature range (from -40°C to +125°C). Additionally, it provides a low leakage current, low dynamic impedance and minimal capacitance.

In addition, the CDLL5951D has been designed for a variety of protection applications. It offers superb electrical characteristics, low static and dynamic power consumption, and it also features a fast dynamic response time that minimizes the impact of short-duration voltage drops.
