Aluminum electrolytic capacitors contain two aluminum foils and a paper or fabric separator. An electrolyte-soaked separator is placed between the two aluminum foils with the anode on one side and the cathode on the other side. The anode is the aluminum and is etched to form a large number of finely divided electrodes. One end of the aluminum foil in the capacitor is connected to a pin or terminal or a connection point, and the other end is soldered or welded to the electrical system.The electrolyte can be solid or liquid. The liquid electrolyte is usually sulfuric acid, while solid electrolyte is usually lead, but it can also be other materials such as manganese dioxide. The electrolyte is typically contained in a can with some type of seal. The purpose of the seal is to keep the electrolyte from leaking out of the capacitor.The CGS422T250W5L Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor, manufactured by Helectron, is commonly used in applications such as DC power supply circuits, switching-mode power supplies, and power line filter circuits. It features an operating temperature range of -55°C to +105°C, a ripple current of between 2A and 125A, a maximum ESR of 0.25 Ohms, a capacitance tolerance of +/-20%, and a rated voltage of 250V.The working principle of the CGS422T250W5L aluminum electrolytic capacitor is relatively simple.
