CHL8103-17CRT is a high efficiency synchronous buck switching regulator that utilizes a power switch to efficiently reduce an input voltage down to a required output voltage level. Working Principle
The CHL8103-17CRT utilizes a single-switch buck topology to convert an unregulated DC voltage to lower regulated output voltage. This single-switch topology works by having a MOSFET transistor switch between open and closed positions to regulate current flow. When the switch is closed, current will flow from the input voltage source through the switch’s finite on resistance and then to the output thus decreasing the input voltage to the desired output level.
