Optoisolators, also known as optocouplers, are electro-optical devices used for electrical isolation between two sections of the circuit, usually an input and output, while transferring digital, analog or pulse signals. The CNY17F-2S is an optoisolator that specifically uses a transistor, photovoltaic output. It is a 4-pin surface mountable and single in-line package (SIP) component (typically used when space is at a premium).
