Optoisolators - Transistor, Photovoltaic Output Optoisolators (or optocouplers) are electrical devices used to isolate an electric circuit from another circuit by using light as a medium of transmission. The CNY17F-2S(TA) optoisolator is a 4-pin, transistor-type, photovoltaic output optoisolator. It is commonly used in communications, medical devices, consumer appliances, and automotive applications.The CNY17F-2S(TA) optoisolator is composed of a phototransistor on the input side and a light emitting diode (LED) at the output side. The LED is powered by the input voltage, and the output side consists of a phototransistor that is sensitive to the light from the LED. When the input voltage is applied, the LED will turn on and the phototransistor will be activated. The phototransistor will then act as an amplifier, amplifying the input signal.
