Thyristors - TRIACs
Thyristors are unidirectional semiconductor switches which are used to control current, voltage and power in circuits. The Thyristor family includes SCRs, Triacs, Diacs, and MOSFETs. TRIACs (Trioduct Alternating Current Switches) are two-way switches for controlling AC circuits. They are designed to control the current in both directions, act as a bidirectional switch. They are widely used in everyday applications such as dimmers for can lights and fans or solid state relays.
CTB12-1200BWPT Application Field and Working Principle
The CTB12-1200BWPT TRIAC is a high performance device with advanced features and is designed for the control of AC power across the lighting industry; it is also suitable for general industrial applications. The triac can also remain open even when the gate current is removed.
