Thyristors - TRIACs are three terminal power switching semiconductors which can be used for a variety of applications in many different industries such as industrial and home appliances control, light dimming, temperature control and phase control systems. The CTB16-1200B is a type of TRIAC designed as an integrated module. As such, its design integrates the TRIAC and its associated circuitry into a single package. This makes it ideal for use in applications where space is limited but high reliability is expected. The CTB16-1200B has a maximum repetitive rating of 1200V and the maximum back-to-back off-state voltage is 600V. The device has a low on-state voltage drop and low gate trigger current for better efficiency and reliability. The Ctb16-1200B is capable of delivering a maximum of 16A when a pulse of gate current is applied at the anode circuit. The device is also protected from gate-controlled breakdowns. In addition, the Ctb16-1200B has a non-zero current reject feature which can reduce the probability of interference in applications where both AC and DC signals coexist.
