The CY3280-MBR is the flagship product among evaluation boards from Cypress Semiconductor Corporation which have been specially designed to meet the demanding requirements of motion sensing. It is an ideal platform for evaluation and testing of motion tracking applications and for sensor configuration, programming, evaluation and debug. The CY3280-MBR evaluation board features the CY8CMBR3104, which is an integrated 16-bit digital motion sensor with embedded low-power processor. This intelligent motion sensor works with the supported motion algorithms to sense and calculate angular motions for tilt, rotate and shake gestures.

The CY3280-MBR evaluation board itself has an integrated motion sensor and program flash memory that allows motion tracking applications to be programmed quickly and easily. It also features a range of highly configurable motion sensing algorithms, allows the user to build motion tracking applications that are highly accurate and energy efficient. The board supports motion tracking at up to 16MPa/s, with an adjustable sensitivity up to 8g, and can accurately sense 3D angular motion in the XYZ axes.

The CY3280-MBR board also includes a built-in accelerometer and gyrometer. The accelerometer is responsible for measuring the linear acceleration of the board, while the gyrometer is responsible for measuring the angular rate. This combination of sensors allows the board to accurately measure angle rotations in full X, Y and Z axis combinations. The accelerometer and gyrometer also allow the user to monitor the acceleration and direction of the board in a coordinate system.

The CY3280-MBR board features a 4.3 inch LCD display that is used to visualize the motion sensing data. The display will show the motion data as dotted lines plotted on a graph along the time axis with the different axes being highlighted with different colors. The LCD display also shows the current motion status, button debounce time and tilt angles in the 3D view. Additionally, the LCD display will also display warning messages to alert the user to any potential problems or issues.

The different colors of the LED’s also indicate in which direction the board is pointing, and in what speed the board is moving. All this information is displayed on the board’s LCD display.
