The DC1565A-C Evaluation Boards for Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) are designed to provide an easy-to-use and low-cost platform for application development and analysis. The evaluation board is based on the MAXREFDES15#, a 14/16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) powered by a MAX9514A linear voltage regulator (LVR). The Maxim MAX9514A LVR is configured to power the MAXREFDES15# reference design. The board includes a USB 2.0 interface for easy setup and configuration.
The DC1565A-C works in two stages. First, the analog signal is conditioned and amplified to create two balanced differential input signals. The signal is then fed into a high-speed ADC, which uses a successive approximation and a two-level internal sequential logic to convert the analog signal to a digital signal. The digital signal is output via a serial interface to a MAXREFDES15#-controlled D/A converter for signal conversion to an analog signal.
The DC1565A-C Evaluation Board includes an off-the-shelf power module, an ADC, a single-ended multiplexer (MUX), a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and a PC-interfaceable evaluator board that contains all the necessary components for system development and testing.
The DC1565A-C Evaluation Board is developed to accommodate two different types of applications. The first is a general-purpose ADC that supports a wide range of analog input signal configurations and can be used for a variety of applications from audio and image processing to medical imaging and industrial control.
