DC1762A-B Application Field and Working PrincipleThe DC1762A-B Evaluation Board from Analog Devices is a combination of multiple components including both analog and digital converters (ADCs). This board allows engineers to learn and test the application of advanced signal-conditioning and analog-to-digital converters in the area of automotive, communications, consumer, industrial, medical, and power electronics. By allowing designers to understand and experiment with the interface circuits and low-pass filters, the DC1762A-B Evaluation Board is a powerful tool for teaching students and mastering the fundamentals of the subject.The main purpose of analog to digital conversion is to convert analog signals into digital signals so they can be used in digital circuits. To do this, the DC1762A-B Evaluation Board uses a combination of two analog-to-digital converters, called the AC and DC converters. The AC converter is a 24-bit Sigma-Delta converter with a maximum sample rate of 50MS/s, and the DC converter is an 8-bit Delta-Sigma converter with a maximum sample rate of 5MS/s.The AC converter is designed to convert analog signals with a frequency range of DC to 100kHz, with a step size of 0.4LSB. It has a dynamic range of -112dB, a resolution of 24 bits, and a maximum conversion rate of 50MS/s, and can be configured through digital control words. The DC converter is designed to convert low-frequency analog signals, such as sine waves and pulses, with a frequency range of 0.1Hz to 20kHz, with resolution of 8 bits and an effective number of bits of 7.6 (ENOB). The maximum conversion rate is 5MS/s, and it also has a digital control system.On the output side, the DC1762A-B Evaluation Board provides digital output through an LVDS port, as well as a pulse-width modulated (PW) output. In addition, the board includes an on-board temperature sensor which allows temperature-dependent tests to be conducted.The board also includes an integrated software-controlled calibration-and-noise-aware (CAN-A) feature which can reduce power consumption and improve performance through real-time compensation of errors. Furthermore, the board is compatible with the Analog Devices real-time interface (RTI) protocol, allowing for rapid prototyping and development.In addition, the board also includes an LCD display, analog-to-digital power unit, several power supplies, and host of other analog and digital components for debugging and testing of designs.Overall, the DC1762A-B Evaluation Board from Analog Devices is an advanced platform designed to provide designers with an efficient, lower cost and high-performance development platform for testing and mastering a wide range of analog and digital signal-conditioning and analog-to-digital conversion technologies.
