Working Principle
The DG411DJ-E3 consists of two independent 4:1 multiplexers/demultiplexers with a total of eight channels, each with an independent enable. Each multiplexer/demultiplexer has four differential inputs, one differential output and an internal gain-stage FET switch. The differential input and output pins are D0- D3 and D4 -D7. The enable pins are EN0 and EN1. When enable pin EN is high, the multiplexer/demultiplexer operates in the multiplexer mode, i.e. the differential outputs D4-D7 are connected to the differential inputs D0-D3 in the sequence set by the binary code of the address pins A0-A1. When enable pin EN is low, the multiplexer/demultiplexer operates in the demultiplexer mode, i.e. the differential input D4-D7 is connected to the differential output D0-D3 in the sequence set by the binary code of the address pins A0-A1.
The DG411DJ-E3 has excellent analog performance characteristics, including low on-state resistance, low off-state leakage, low cost, and extremely low power consumption. The device provides five types of switching configurations, including: single-pole, dual-pole, quad-pole, octal-pole and ultra-high speed (UHS) configuration. The switching speed of the device is also optimized with a maximum on-state resistance of 5Ω, a maximum on-state capacitance of 1pF and a low off-state leakage of 0.1nA. Additionally, the device is housed in an industry-standard 16-pin, dual in-line (DIP) package for improved thermal dissipation, and has an operating temperature range of -40 to 85 °C.
