The DG418DY+T is part of a range of devices for interface applications such as analog switches, multiplexers, and demultiplexers. It is a monolithic quad digital switch, designed to mediate between two channels separated by a low-voltage differential signal by providing switching from one to the other. The device is fabricated on an alumina substrate and the switches are single pole, double throw (SPDT) with a common output terminal. It is a combination of four power MOSFETs and TTL compatible control circuitry. The MOSFETs are low-on resistance, fast switching and can support multiple control signals. The switch can be used to either pass an analog signal to a single output channel, or to route an analog signal to multiple output channels.It can also be used to control DC signals. The DG418DY+T provides a single output coupling between two differential input channels. It has a very low on-state resistance, low off-state leakage current and fast switching times, making it suitable for high-speed applications. The device also has a wide control voltage range with logic compatible inputs.The device is ideal for use in applications such as audio switching, active filters, power control, signal routing and sample and hold circuits. It is capable of operating within a wide range of supply voltage and makes it suitable for multi-voltage applications. The device also features TTL compatible control inputs, which enable easy interfacing with digital electronics. The working principles of the DG418DY+T is quite simple. When the control voltage is applied to the control terminal, the corresponding switch is closed and the connected input is allowed to pass through to the output. When the voltage is removed, the switch is open and the signal is held at the input stage. By using multiple switches, multiple output routes can be created depending on the applied control voltages.The device has a number of protection features which makes it suitable for reliable operation.
