DG4157EDN-T1-GE4 is an integrated circuit (IC) device invented for interface communication applications. This IC serves to connect signals between multiple components involving analog switches, multiplexers, and demultiplexers. A logic input signal applied to the control pin causes the CDFETs to switch on and off, thus switching the analog signal between two external pins. This operation is based on the basic FET switch, which consists of two FET transistors connected back-to-back.The DG4157EDN-T1-GE4 IC is designed to provide higher integration of multiple switch & multiplexer functions in one package. It features an operate-and-hold voltage of 0.1V - 0.4V, an isolation of >80dB at 3MHz, an off-state leakage of < 10nA, an on-state resistance of < 2Ω, and an on-time of < 4ns. Due to its high integration, the device requires less current and ground connections, and hence requires fewer pins.The DG4157EDN-T1-GE4 IC is suited for single-ended analog signal applications, such as audio, video, data and logic signal routing, multiplexed signal routing, data buffering and level shifting, signal mixing and signal switching applications. It is also popularly used in interface communication applications, such as those involving USB, Firewire and IEEE1394.In addition, the switch functions of the DG4157EDN-T1-GE4 IC can also be used for time-domain multiplexing and signal conditioning applications. For time-domain multiplexing, the on-off times of the FET switches are controlled by a logic input, thus allowing a signal source to be dynamically routed to different deflection points. This technique is commonly used for signal transmitting and signal routing applications.Furthermore, the switch functions of this IC can also be used for signal conditioning applications. It enables noise spikes and over/under voltage situations to be removed from a signal.
