Working Principle of the DG508ACWE

The DG508ACWE is an 8:1 multiplexer with a single 5V power supply. It has two basic working modes: Analog Multiplexer and Analog Demultiplexer. When working in the Multiplexer mode, two control pins are used to select one channel from the 8 channels. Each of the 8 channels includes an On-Off switch. When a channel is selected, the corresponding switch will be opened and the signal will be output through the output terminal. When the Multiplexer is working in the Demultiplexer mode, one of the 2 control pins is used to select one channel of the 8 channels, and the other control pin is used to open or close the corresponding On-Off switch.

Each channel of the DG508ACWE is equipped with a standard amplifier and an inductor or capacitor circuit to form a low pass filter, so as to reduce distortion and reduce the common-mode output voltage of the multiplexer. The DG508ACWE also has an Enable pin to disable all internal switches when the Enable pin is pulled low. When the Enable pin is high, the corresponding control pins control the switches as normal.

DG508ACWE is suitable for low voltage applications and can be used with a single 5V power supply. The power supply voltage range of the DG508ACWE is from 2V to 5V, the total power consumption is 500nW and its propagation delay time is less than 20ns. It has a typical non-linearity of 1.5dB and a low insertion loss of 0.5dB. The DG508ACWE contains 6 sections of DMOS FET Analog multiplexed switch with a low on-resistance of 0.2 and a maximum off-leakage current of 5nA, making it suitable for high current or low voltage applications.
