DP83822IRHBT Integrated Circuits (ICs)

The DP83822IRHBT is designed to be a highly integrated physical layer transceiver to meet the requirements of high-performance backplane design. This device is mainly used in the wired network. It features mechanisms to accommodate high-speed electrical layer signaling, thus it is widely adopted in the structured cabling, fiber optic cable, and other industrial cabling networks.

In hardware, the DP83822IRHBT leverages a dual-line serializer and deserializer, with requirements met by the IEEE802.3ab and 1000BASE-T standards. The device is equipped with the ability of twisted-pair tranceiver that supports the Ethernet communications over distances of up to 30m. As for the operational speed, the DP83822IRHBT covers all speeds up to 1Gbps, supported by the physical coding sublayer and media access controller.

The working principle of the device is based on the standard Ethernet logical as per IEEE802.3 standards. After being properly set up, the DP83822IRHBT can send and receive Ethernet frames of different sizes and address. A set of processing blocks in the device are responsible for analyzing, receiving and sending packets. This chain procedure starts with the receiver, then followed by a clock data recovery stage, the serial-to-parallel conversion, the symbol decoding and mapping, and the error correction.

In the end, the frames are passed to the media access control for further processing. For the frames to transmit, the function reverses the procedure: from equalizer, mapping, serial-parallel conversion and parallel-serial, the DAC and clock data recovery, and eventually the transceiver interface. This same chain of components applies to both duplex and half duplex interfaces.
