The DP83848I-MAU-EK is an Evaluation Board with an integrated 10/100Base-T long reach PHY. It allows customers to begin development of media access control (MAC) and network processor designs with an optimized and cost-effective solution. The board\'s design consists of a Texas Instruments DP83848 PHY and a Microchip Technology ENC28J60 Ethernet controller. This Evaluation Board allows users to test existing Ethernet networks and troubleshoot various applications. It supports up to 10 Mbps Ethernet and 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet communications and is specifically designed for long-reach applications. With its long reach capabilities, it is ideal for PoE (power over Ethernet) applications. Additionally, it uses a highly reliable hybrid-Ethernet transceiver with a Media-Independent Interface (MII) that allows low latency. It provides a high-performance, cost-effective solution with low-pin count, and incorporates a 10Base-T transceiver, an on-chip MAC, and an 8-bit Parallel—SLAVE port.
