The DS1375T+ is a multi-function, real-time clock (RTC) that was designed by Maxim Integrated, Inc. It is a highly accurate, low power, clock device with features such as temperature-compensated accuracy, robust event alarm handling, automatic daylight saving time adjustment and oscillator assistance functions. Its primary use is to keep track of the time and date in applications such as industrial automation, consumer electronics, medical instrumentation, and building automation.

The DS1375T+ features a mode-less configuration, eliminating the need for complicated external circuitry to set and operate the device. This makes the device very easy to design-in as no configuration or initialization is required. It also has a 32KHz crystal input that can be used to provide an exact timing reference. This crystal provides superior accuracy and stability compared to other clock sources. The DS1375T+ also has a low profile, keeping the design space to a minimum.

The DS1375T+ is available in both SOIC and TSSOP packages. It operates from a single +3.3V or +5.0V power supply and contentedly consumes only 10uA of active current. It has a wide working temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, ensuring reliable operation in a variety of harsh operating environments. An on-board quartz oscillator ensures very high accuracy and stability.

The DS1375T+ has an integrated real-time clock counter and two configurable alarms. When either of the alarms is triggered, a flag bit is set in the control register and an interrupt signal is generated. This allows for precise time scheduling in applications such as automation or event tracking. Additionally, the device has a low frequency oscillator assist (LFOSC) feature that can be used to compensate for crystal frequency drift over wide temperature ranges. Furthermore, it has a programmable clock output that allows it to be used as a source for other device’s timing.

The DS1375T+ also has a programmable input pin that can be used to enable or disable the digital output. Additionally, the device contains a programmable shutdown control pin that can be used to enable or disable all digital functions, reducing the overall power consumption of the device. Finally, it features a battery backup pin that allows the device to retain its operation in the event of a power outage or other emergency.
