The DS1643P-100+ is a fully integrated, Serial Peripheral Interface, battery-backed real-time clock (RTC) and calendar. It integrates a real-time clock/calendar, 32 kBytes of SRAM, 1,024 bytes of EEPROM, and an SPI controller. This integrated solution eliminates the need for a separate RTC or external EEPROM in many applications. The DS1643P-100+ is ideal for applications where accuracy and data retention for extended periods is necessary. It features a high accuracy temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) oscillator with operating temperature range from -25°C to +85°C.
The DS1643P-100+ real-time clock/calendar is a programmable and backs up its operation with an external battery supply in the event of power interruption. Using TI’s ultra-low power technology, the device offers an incredibly low CMOS power consumption, ensuring the RTC continues to operate for years, even during power losses.
The integrated time-keeping features and alarms of the DS1643P-100+ make it easy to use for accurate time and date tracking in applications such as retail, automotive, and medical equipment, as well as industrial and consumer devices. The RTC and calendar are easily programmed using serial peripheral interface (SPI) with the on-chip SPI interface. Additionally, the RTC and calendar can be programmed through the EEPROM.
