A DS1822, or Dallas Semiconductor\'s one-wire temperature sensor, is a digital device with an analog output used for temperature sensing applications. It is a two-wire connection device as the return path is provided by the ground connection of the circuit.
The device is encased in a small TO-92 package and is suitable for surface-mount system (SMT) technology. It can operate over a wide temperature range from -55°C to +125°C ± 1°C accuracy. The sensor has the ability to measure the temperature accurately in 4-bit increments. The data obtained from the sensor is usually either 8-bit or 12-bit resolution.
