The DS9637ACM is a high-speed, low-voltage differential signal (LVDS) transceiver designed to handle applications with critical timing requirements. The DS9637ACM can accept differential input signals ranging from 45 Megabits per second (Mbps) to 500 Mbps in 1 Mbps steps, and provides a differential output signal with a peak-to-peak amplitude of 450 mV.The DS9637ACM is designed to work with 3.3 Volt and lower power supplies. It is also designed to be compliant with the Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Advanced Time-Division Multiple Access (A-TDMA), helping manufacturers ensure that their equipment meets the AIS/A-TDMA specifications.
Input signal conditioning, signal detection and signal regeneration are the primary functions of the DS9637ACM. A regenerated output signal with a peak-to-peak amplitude of 450 mV is provided. A programmable gain and slew rate control is also available to optimize signal outputs for data transfers at different speeds. In addition, a low-power sleep mode can be enabled and disabled to further reduce power consumption. The sleep mode will reduce the power consumed by the device by up to 75%, allowing it to be used in power-sensitive applications.
The DS9637ACM also provides several error detection features, including parity and specially programmed CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) codes, that can detect data errors in the input data stream and provide an alert to users.
