Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, commonly known as aluminum capacitors, are widely used in electronic devices and systems. They are composed of two aluminum foil electrodes that are separated by an electrolyte. When a voltage is applied to the electrodes, the electric field across the electrolytic layer causes the ions of the electrolyte to move toward the opposite electrode, causing charges to accumulate. The result is a storage of electrical energy and the creation of an electrostatic field.EGPA350ELL681MK20S is a series of aluminum electrolytic capacitors with a voltage rating of 10 to 400Vdc. It is designed for use in high voltage switch-mode power supplies and other circuit designs. The EGP series has a conductive anodic oxide film as the dielectric. The outer cover is made of aluminum, which acts as the cathode. This combination allows the capacitor to achieve superior performance in terms of leakage current, temperature and ripple current ratings.The main application field of this series is the power industry. It mainly refers to high voltage switch-mode power supplies. This kind of power supply adopts a new type of resonant circuit, replacing traditional square wave switching with soft switching technology, which reduces electronic noise and improves the system efficiency. In such systems, the EGPA series capacitor helps to buffer high-frequency switching voltages and currents in the resonant circuit, and reduce interference to other components in the system.The working principle of aluminum electrolytic capacitor is based on electrolyte-filled materials. When a voltage is applied, the dielectric oxide film forms the capacitance between the two metal electrodes. Inside the capacitor, trace amounts of electrolyte leak out of the foil-metal interface to form a conductive yet slightly resistive layer, which supports the higher-frequency current and compensates for the lower-frequency current. This is called the dielectric relaxation effect and is one of the most important factors of aluminum electrolytic capacitor performance.The EGPA series of aluminum electrolytic capacitors can effectively reduce the interference caused by high-frequency current. The high temperature and ripple current ratings make it an ideal choice for switch-mode power supply and other circuit applications. With advantages such as high voltage resistance, small size, low cost and long life, the EGPA series of aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in a variety of electronic devices and systems.
