Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are a type of capacitor constructed with a metal casing and two plates. The aluminum electrolyte acts as the cathode, and a paper or cloth layer acts as the anode, separated by a liquid electrolyte. On the inside, two metal plates are suspended in a liquid electrolyte. A metal oxide film coats the cathode side of the plates and the anode side of the plates are coated with an electrically conductive material known as the electrolyte. When a voltage is applied across the plates, the metal oxide film on the cathode side of the plates become polarized and draws in metal ions from the electrolyte that it needs to form an electrostatic field. This electrostatic field stores energy, and this energy is then released when the capacitance is required or the voltage is no longer applied.

The EMZA160ADA331MHA0G aluminum electrolytic capacitor is used to energize electronic circuits, using the electrochemical phenomenon of Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction.
