The EP9307-IRZ is a high performance embedded processor designed to meet the needs of the embedded systems industry. It combines the features of a small-sized ARM processor with the low power consumption and large on-chip memory required by many embedded applications. Its small size also makes it ideal for embedded applications that require a small form factor, yet still powerful processing solution.The EP9307-IRZ is based on the ARM9 family of embedded processor cores and is designed to offer a wide range of features. Among the features offered are: 533MHz clock speed, 64KB of on-chip SRAM, 2MB of on-chip Flash, hardware debugging support, power management support, and a high level of integration. It also integrates peripherals such as a 10/100 Ethernet interface and Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART).The EP9307-IRZ is ideal for embedded applications such as the development of mobile phones, digital video recorders, handheld GPS navigation systems, industrial automation control systems and medical instrumentation. It is also capable of running Windows CE and other embedded operating systems.The working principle of the EP9307-IRZ is based on the highly efficient ARM9 architecture. This architecture is designed to maximize performance while minimizing cost, power consumption and size. It features an instruction register, an instruction decode unit, an address translation unit and an execute unit that all work together to provide a powerful, yet flexible, processor.At the heart of the architecture lies the basic instruction set and execution method. The ARM9 family supports the fast, efficient RISC instruction set, which minimizes the instruction size, allowing for speedy execution. The EP9307-IRZ also features an instructional pipeline, which allows multiple instructions to be processed in parallel. The instruction pipeline minimizes the time it takes to execute each instruction by allowing instructions to be overlapped.The EP9307-IRZ also includes a bus interface unit (BIU) that provides direct communication between the CPU and the external devices that are connected to the system. The BIU allows for a high degree of configurability, allowing for the efficient transfer of data and instructions.The EP9307-IRZ features a range of power management features, allowing the processor to operate more efficiently and to reduce overall power consumption. Power efficiency is improved by slowing down the processor clock when it is idle, as well as reducing the current draw when the processor is busy.
