The EP9315-CB, or Cirrus Logic EP9315-CB System-on-Chip is an ultra-low power, integrated microprocessor system offering the highest performance available in an embedded processor. It is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of embedded applications, providing an extremely high performance of 80 MIPs (Million Instructions Per Second) with a low system power of between 6ミW to 9ミW. The EP9315-CB combines an ARM920T processor core with a USB 2.0 high-speed On-The-Go controller, a DDR SDRAM memory controller, clock generator resources, and a range of low power peripherals. This combination of technology allows for applications to be concurrently processed faster, more efficiently, and more securely, with a very low power requirement.

EP9315-CB Application Field and Working Principle

The EP9315-CB is an embedded microprocessor system well suited for applications in consumer and commercial electronics, automotive, wearable computing, refrigeration, industrial controls and instrumentation, medical devices, security systems, process control, and white goods. It is used in applications such as video active protocol decoding, high-demand video and imaging applications, hard disk drive interfaces, robotics, cardiac pacemaker controllers, access control, and other embedded systems. It employs a three-stage pipeline model that breaks down the instruction sets into the three basic CPU pipeline stages: instruction fetch, decode, and execute. This structure allows for a consistent, high performance level even in the presence of reduced system clock frequency, making the EP9315-CB an ideal choice for embedded system applications that demand maximum performance efficiency. The EP9315-CB also supports concurrent multi-thread operation, which enables multiple core-level operations to be efficiently executed within the same clock cycle.Furthermore, the EP9315-CB system-on-Chip has advanced power-management capabilities, that can efficiently minimize the system\'s power consumption during the active and low-power modes. The system-on-chip includes a System-On-Chip (SOC) Power Management Unit (PMU) that supports advanced power-saving features such as sleep and system idle states, dynamic power scaling, clock gating, low-power mode switching and standby mode power-down.
