The EVAL-900-RC is a RF Evaluation and Development Kit, Board which is developed by Microchip Technology. It is an advanced evaluation board with low-cost, easy-to-use tool that can be used for evaluation and development of the Microchip MRF24WG0MA/MB 2.4GHz Wireless Microcontroller. This evaluation board helps developers in developing and demonstrating application design software for the MRF24WG0MA/MB. The board contains an integrated MCU, a 802.11g Transceiver-AP with small attributes (MRF24WG0MA/MB), SPI interface, antennas, resistors and many other components.The EVAL-900-RC board can be used to evaluate, test and demonstrate the features of the MRF24WG0MA/MB. The board is primarily used to evaluate the RF capability and speed of the MRF24WG0MA/MB as well as its Ethernet-like Media Access Control (MAC) layer. It is also used to evaluate and demonstrate the performance of software applications developed with the MRF24WG0MA/MB.The main features of the EVAL-900-RC are the on-board programming support, the integrated debug terminal, the breadboard-type breakout area for basic prototyping and the support for the Microchip MRF24WG0MA/MB transceiver. The board is powered by two 5-volt power supplies, one for the board itself and one for the MRF24WG0MA/MB. The board is also equipped with an SMA connector for external antenna extensions.The working principle of the EVAL-900-RC is based on the microcontroller which controls all the activities of the board. The microcontroller collects the data from the transceiver, performs the calculations and stores the data in the board’s memory.
