The EVAL-AD5420EBZ is a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) evaluation board. It is designed to evaluate the performance and features of the AD5420 D/A converter. The EVAL-AD5420EBZ evaluation board provides a demonstration platform for a range of analogue and digital signal applications.
The AD5420 is part of the AD5420 family of converters, which includes the AD5421, AD5422, and AD5423. It is a high-accuracy, 8-bit, unipolar, buffered output digital-to-analog converter. The AD5420 has a ±16 LSB differential/±20 LSB integral linearity code accuracy and low glitch. This makes it suitable for automotive and motor-control applications, as well as industrial and medical instrumentation, as well as audio applications. The AD5420 is capable of providing 0.15 mV/LSB resolution.
The AD5420 evaluation board is designed to demonstrate the features and performance characteristics of the AD5420 converter. The board includes a socketed microprocessor, prototyping section, control, reference and output pins for the AD5420. The board also provides additional components to enable the AD5420 to be programmed, including a connector for external control circuitry, a jumper to enable software-controlled power down, and an external power supply.
The board is powered by a VDD (5 V) power supply. The 4.5 V to 5.5 V operating range of the power supply is set via external jumpers. With the power off, the AD5420 evaluation board can be programmed by connecting the programming interface to a PC using a USB cable. Once the programming interface is connected to the PC, the AD5420 evaluation board can be programmed from the PC\'s user-friendly software. The AD5420 evaluation board has ergonomic/bearing guides for easy manipulation, a reset button for quick resets, and the buffered outputs provide easy external connections.
