The EVAL-ADUM3223AEBZ is a Class B Dual Channel Isolated Digital Isolator that includes latch-up protection across two channels, as well as industrial grade temperature range of -40C to +85C. It is an FTC approved device that provides a reliable solution for digital isolation. ApplicationThe EVAL-ADUM3223AEBZ can be used in a variety of applications, particularly in industries such as automotive, consumer, industrial, and medical. It is ideal for power supplies, voltage protection, motor controllers, communications systems, distributed control systems, and other isolated information systems. The EVAL-ADUM3223AEBZ is particularly well-suited for applications in which a differential signal needs to be isolated. It is especially useful for isolated systems which use I2C, SPI, CAN, or 100Kbps point-to-point communication. It also features a photogate for isolating two endpoints of a differential signal. Working PrincipleThe EVAL-ADUM3223AEBZ works by providing an isolation barrier between two isolated paths. This is accomplished by a combination of galvanic isolation, high-speed isolation capacitive path, and low-speed signal clamps. The galvanic isolation ensures that the same ground references are not shared between the two channels, thus preventing current leakage. The high-speed isolation capacitive path allows for a high-speed 0-62.5MHz digital data transfer. The low-speed signal clamps on each channel block unwanted noise or high frequency transients. Additionally, the EVAL-ADUM3223AEBZ features an additional isolated path for isolating the input and output logic levels. This ensures that the output logic level is completely separate from the input signal.
