The EVAL-AD5694RSDZ is a digital to analog converter (DAC) Evaluation Board from Analog Devices. It incorporates the AD5694R 8-channel, 16-bit, voltage-output, multibit, digital-to-analog converter (DAC). This board and corresponding digital to analog converter (DAC) device are ideal for industrial process control, low frequency motor control and digital gain or level control. From audio to motor control, the board enables the user to quickly evaluate the performance and features of the AD5694R device.
The EVAL-AD5694RSDZ evaluation board is designed, as a complete system solution, for the evaluation and testing of the AD5694R device. This evaluation system allows for high speed, 8-channel data reception and acquisition from a host PC or other compatible device. The on-board voltage reference provides simple and consistent setup permitting data conversion with high linearity and precision. In addition, connection to various gearmotors, tachometers, heathers, transducers, or other analog input/output can be accomplished quickly and in a user-friendly fashion.
The EVAL-AD5694RSDZ evaluation board comes with a user-friendly GUI application control software which allows for quick and easy testing of the device. This software enables the user to quickly define parameters such as resolution, gain, channel selection, input and output range, sample rate, and offset. The graphical display provides a visualization of the output performance. The software also allows for precise control of the DACs and calibration of the AD5694R device. The user-friendly GUI includes a number of features, such as generating a range of output voltages, 12-bit-accurate voltage measurements, high-bandwidth performance, temperature measurement, determining peak-to-peak outputs, and DMA (Direct Memory Access) capabilities.
The working principle of the EVAL-AD5694RSDZ evaluation board is quite simple. To accurately convert digital signals into voltage outputs, the board serves as an interface between the external signals and the AD5694R DAC. The Analog Devices\' low-noise and low-drift precision voltage references provides an accurate and repeatable reference for the setup. The AD5694R converts the digital signals to an analog voltage level which can then be fed into the external devices.
The serial digital interface consists of the voltage reference and two digital inputs. The first digital input (DI) is used for 3-8 bit data acquisition. The second digital input (DI2) is used for 8-16 bit data conversion. The data format for both inputs is as follows: number of channels (1-8), data rate per channel (variable, depending on the application), and control word (optional).
The EVAL-AD5694RSDZ evaluation board is designed to precisely convert digital signals into analog voltage outputs in a variety of industrial and commercial applications.
