Working Principle

The operating principle of the EVAL-AD7091R-2SDZ Evaluation Board is simple. It consists of an Analog Devices AD7091R-2 12-bit, 10MHz ADC and a variety of onboard hardware and peripherals. A signal is input into the Evaluation Board and is converted to a digital representation. The digital information is then collected and processed by the attached peripherals to produce an output or control signal. The ADC accepts a single-ended or differential input signal and converts it into a 12-bit digital code. The ADC consists of a preamplifier and a track-and-hold circuit. The two D/A converters allow for controlling the differential input offset and gain. The Evaluation Board is programmed via the AD7091RE board, which also provides the ability to monitor and troubleshoot the system. The AD7091RE board also provides a connection to a PC via USB connection.
