The EVAL-AD7176-2SDZ is an evaluation board developed by Analog Devices®. It is a part of the EVAL-AD7176-2SDZ series of evaluation boards for Analog To Digital Converters (ADCs). This series of evaluation boards is designed to enable designers to evaluate, assess, and optimize the performance of the Analog Devices ADCs. This particular evaluation board enables users to evaluate the performance of the Analog Devices ADC, the AD7176-2.
The EVAL-AD7176-2SDZ evaluation board offers an optimal performance platform from which to evaluate the device\'s features and performance. It includes a clock source, a thermal monitor, and all the necessary connectors and headers. Additionally, the board has built-in over-temperature and power fault detection features, which help to protect the ADC from excessive heat or over-voltage conditions.
The analog and digital signal outputs of the AD7176-2 are routed to header pins for easy connection. The board also contains the necessary analog and digital circuitry for controlling, monitoring and diagnosing the device\'s performance. It also provides access to all of the AD7176-2\'s input and output noise isolation levels, adjustment of the gain and offset settings, and the ability to test and evaluate the AD7176-2\'s internal features.
The core of the EVAL-AD7176-2SDZ evaluation board is the AD7176-2. It is an 18-bit sigma-delta ADC, which offers excellent accuracy and high resolution. The ADC supports a variety of resolution settings including 10-bits, 12-bits, 14-bits, 16-bits and 18-bits. Its sampling rate is programmable from 0.5Hz to 200kHz as well as the digital filters.
The AD7176-2 is a single channel device. It provides single-ended input ranges of ±20mV, ±40mV, ±60mV, ±80mV and ±200mV, as well as a differential input range of ±10mV. The device captures data in several bit-depth combinations, and offers both synchronous and asynchronous serial interfaces. It also offers a wide dynamic range, with a maximum SNR of 98.7dB.
The EVAL-AD7176-2SDZ evaluation board is ideal for applications such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), medical monitoring, DC motor control, LED lighting control, measuring/controlling systems, and RF receivers. It is an excellent tool for evaluating and optimizing the performance of the AD7176-2.
In addition to the AD7176-2, the EVAL-AD7176-2SDZ board also includes a differentiating amplifier to provide up to three channels of single-ended input signals. An internal reference voltage is also provided. The board also features multiple connectors and headers to allow for easy connection to the AD7176-2\'s analogue and digital I/O ports, and to external peripheral devices.
