The EVAL-AD7625EDZ is a member of the Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) family of Evaluation boards, which offer a reliable and cost-effective platform to evaluate the performance of different Data Converter ICs. The evaluation board is designed for applications such as digital thermometers, portable medical devices, remote sensing and data acquisition systems.
This board contains an AD7625 high precision, low-power, 8-bit ADC. It operates from a single supply of +2.7V to +5.5V. The AD7625 helps to reduce the design complexities associated with analog-to-digital conversion. An on-board precision voltage reference, the REF3020, produces a constant reference voltage. This reference voltage is used as an input to the AD7625 ADC chip for accurate conversion.
The EVAL-AD7625EDZ evaluation board is provided with a software GUI Application that allows the system designer to evaluate the performance of the ADC with ease. The software enables users to configure the settings of the ADC for optimal performance. All control and monitoring of the EVAL-AD7625EDZ is done via the software GUI application. All parameters can be monitored accurately on the software GUI display.
The on board MCP2560 Interface IC enables the system designer to access the data capture performance of the evaluation board. The MCP2560 is a multi-channel SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) communication Interface IC. It interfaces the data output from the ADC to the SPI bus. The MCP2560 Interface IC allows the user to transfer data up to 8Mbps to an external system.
The EVAL-AD7625EDZ evaluation board provides the user with multiple options for setting up the ADC operation. A set of digital potentiometers are provided to program the full-scale input ranges, the output DC offset and the input DC offset. The MCP2560 also allows users to select the SPI clock mode and data rate.
The EVAL-AD7625EDZ evaluation board also provides an on-board temperature sensor, the REF30xx, which is used to measure ambient temperature. The sensor is controlled by the I2C bus and communicates with the host system through the MCP2560 interface IC. The on-board temperature sensor can be used to measure temperature digitally.
The EVAL-AD7625EDZ evaluation board features a wide range of built-in features that simplify the design process and provide flexibility to the user. The board is provided with multiple voltage and current ranges for both the input and output of the ADC.
