The EVAL-AD7766EDZ is a high-performance evaluation board for Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs). This board provides greater accuracy and higher throughput for industrial applications, ranging from automotive to medical. It features a low noise, single-ended, 24-bit sigma-delta ADC, paired with a 12-bit 8-channel analogue multiplexer. The input is a low voltage bipolar signal with a range of ±10V. The board has a 4.096V reference voltage, which is adjustable through a jumper, along with a variety of other features to optimize the performance of the system.
The EVAL-AD7766EDZ is powered by the AD7766 ADC, a true 24-bit sigma-delta ADC with low noise and high resolution, offering superior performance for industrial applications including automotive, medical, factory automation, and instrumentation. The board is designed with an onboard programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and low-pass filter (LPF) to reduce noise and improve linearity, enabling high accuracy systems with excellent latency. The signal from the board is routed to the AD7766 ADC via the 26-pin SATA connector. On the evaluation board, there are onboard resistors for selected power supplies, as well as power supply decoupling and filtering components. An external control object allows the user to define the operating conditions and video digital outputs according to their application needs.
The EVAL-AD7766EDZ also supports on-board software and hardware development, with an embedded processor core, flash memory, GPIO interfaces, and a boot loader. Users can easily develop applications on the evaluation board using the I2C and parallel interfaces, including configuration of the digitally programmable registers and the calibration of the analog block. The board also supports evaluation of the analog-to-digital converter, multiplexer, and output data bus.
In addition to its functional applications, the EVAL-AD7766EDZ also has a robust mechanical design, with 6.4mm mounting holes for secure mounting in any system. The board is also designed with a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and is compliant with the relevant UL, CE and other safety certifications. It also has an optional external temperature-controlled fan to help cool the board during evaluation.
The EVAL-AD7766EDZ is a versatile board for performing accurate and reliable industrial measurements with the sigma-delta ADC.
