The EVAL-AD7768-4FMCZ analog-to-digital converter (ADC) evaluation board is an essential tool for system developers to evaluate the performance of the AD7768 ADC. It is a versatile, low power, high speed, 16-bit device designed with a wide input range and excellent linearity. It is available in both SOT23-5 and SOT23-6 packages in a variety of configurations. The EVAL-AD7768-4FMCZ features two fully differential channels, two single-ended channels, and two programmable gains that allow for the evaluation of a wide range of analog input signals.The EVAL-AD7768-4FMCZ application field is mainly related to industrial, medical and consumer applications. The programmable gains featured in the board can be used for a variety of applications like medical imaging, industrial process control, and consumer device interface resolution enhancement.The EVAL-AD7768-4FMCZ working principle is focused on converting analog signals to digital with higher precision and accuracy than usual analog-to-digital converters. It is based on the Delta-Sigma architecture which uses oversampling to increase the resolution of the ADC. The EVAL-AD7768-4FMCZ is an implemetation using a twp-stage amplification to achieve even higher accuracy. The board features a on-chip sample-and-hold circuit that captures the input signal and a two-stage amplifier that boosts the signal before it is digitized by the ΔΣ modulator. Afterwards, the AD7768 demodulates the ΔΣ modulator output to 16-bits and transfers the data through an I2C or SPI interface. In addition, an internal noise generator is used to generate reference signals for noise cancelling.The key features of the EVAL-AD7768-4FMCZ are its wide input range of -2.2V to 2.2V; 16-bit noise free resolution; 10us conversion rate; single power supply of 3.3V; and 10uV noise level.In conclusion, the EVAL-AD7768-4FMCZ is a versatile, low power, high speed, and high resolution ADC evaluation board that is well-suited to applications in industrial, medical, and consumer products.
