The EVAL-AD9833SDZ is an evaluation board designed exclusively for the AD9833 single-chip high-performance Direct Digital Synthesizer (DDS) from Analog Devices. The user can make any desired connections on the board using either the included 7-pin turquoise connector or the green 44-pin edge connector. Additionally, a USB interface and a parallel port allow for easy debugging and data processing.
So how does the EVAL-AD9833SDZ work? Well, the AD9833 is a low-power, monolithic Direct Digital Synthesizer that uses a 4-bit programmable control word to create sine waves, triangular waves and square waves of up to 12 bits of resolution. With the help of the board’s included components, three different output signals can be produced: sine, square, and triangle. The board also features a fahrenheit-to-celsius converter circuit, so the user can easily convert temperatures from the Celsius to Fahrenheit scale and vice-versa.
The EVAL-AD9833SDZ can also be used to generate precise PWM signals with a resolution of 10 bits, and its low-power design makes it suitable for battery-operated use. With its high-bandwidth output, the EVAL-AD9833SDZ can also be used to generate precisely modulated signals for wireless communications and navigation systems.
In addition, the EVAL-AD9833SDZ includes an on-board frequency-selectable oscillator that enables the user to adjust the sine, triangle, and square wave outputs to any desired frequency. Moreover, the board features two 12-bit outputs to enable the user to interface directly with external analog-to-digital converters. With the help of the board’s on-board EEPROM, the user can store specific frequencies and the corresponding corresponding parameters for quick access.
