The EVAL-ADXL312Z is a current-output MEMS accelerometer from Analog Devices intended for a variety of sensing applications. It provides a high-sensitivity, low-noise acceleration measurement in three directions, along the X, Y, and Z axes. Its two-wire serial peripheral interface (SPI) ensures an easy communication with the host controller. The EVAL-ADXL312Z consists of two parts, the ADXL312Z MEMS accelerometer and the EVAL-ADXL312Z evaluation board which is a full featured evaluation board. This application note discusses the application field and working principle of EVAL-ADXL312Z.

The EVAL-ADXL312Z evaluation board can be used in a wide range of acceleration sensing applications. It can be used in automotive, military, industrial and consumer applications. These applications include tilt sensing, gesture recognition, vibration monitoring, level sensing and the like. The board has two mounting holes, which can be used to mount the board in a variety of orientations for various applications. The ADXL312Z MEMS accelerometer on the EVAL-ADXL312Z board has an integrated on-chip temperature compensation system.
