FOD3181SD Isolators - Gate Drivers is an isolated gate driver used in various applications that require isolated power and signal circuits. It is designed to transfer electrical power circuits between circuits operating at different power supply levels, ensuring electrical separation of the system and protecting against overvoltage. It features four common isolated gate driver functions: isolated overvoltage protection, isolated undervoltage protection, isolated pulse continuous conduction mode control, and isolated voltage-source control.

The FOD3181SD offers excellent isolation capability over a wide temperature range. The isolation dielectric breakdown voltage is greater than 500Vrms over a wide temperature range. It is designed for direct connection to isolated high-side outputs, and the traditional open-collector interface is replaced by onboard discrete power switches. The onboard logic allows for isolation from the load-side connections, eliminating the burden of moving the load-side connections to a higher voltage level. Additionally, it supports higher switching speeds with PWM control.
