FSLP572 is an integrated pressure and temperature sensing device designed to measure, monitor, and control pressure and/or temperature in critical applications. The device is based on Ferro’s proprietary, high-resolution sensing technology that combines a piezoresistive pressure sensor, temperature compensation sensor, and ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) in the same package. The combination of precision sensing, advanced ASIC, and cost competitive package, enables high-accuracy and dependable performance.FSLP572 is designed to operate in different kinds of liquids and gases. The thin-film-on-ceramic pressure sensor senses pressure over a wide range from 0 to 100 bar (1.4 – 1450 psi), while the thermistor-based temperature sensor senses the compensation temperature over -45 to 150°C. The integrated ASIC in the device provides digital signal output options of SPI and I2C, making it suitable for a broad range of applications including automotive, medical, industrial, consumer, and agricultural.The working principle of FSLP572 is based on the piezoresistive effect. It is a pressure sensing technology that uses a semiconductor material to measure changes in strain caused by applied pressure. The pressure sensor is composed of a Wheatstone bridge circuit configuration, which consists of four resistors. When the pressure is applied, the resistances of the two arms of the bridge change due to the strain induced by the pressure. This change in resistance causes an imbalance in the bridge circuit, resulting in a voltage drop. This change in voltage is proportional to the applied pressure, which is then converted to a digital signal by the ASIC.The device also incorporates a temperature compensation sensor to counter the effects of temperature on the operation of the pressure sensor. This is achieved by changing the resistance of the temperature compensation sensor, thereby compensating for temperature changes.FSLP572 is a robust platform, designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions.
