A GBL08-M3/45 bridge rectifier has three-phase AC input terminal and a DC output terminal. The bridge rectifier uses four diodes in a bridge configuration to convert three-phase AC power into DC power. Each of the three phase voltage inputs is connected to one side of the rectifier while the other side is connected to the DC output terminal. The diodes alternately conduct and block the flow of current providing a unidirectional output. During the positive half cycle, the top left and right diodes (diodes 1 and 4) are forward biased, whereas the bottom diodes (diodes 2 and 3) are reverse biased. This allows current to flow from the top left diode (diode 1) through the load and to the top right diode (diode 4). During the negative half cycle, the diodes switch roles, so now the bottom left diode (diode 2) and the bottom right diode (diode 3) become forward biased, while diodes 1 and 4 become reverse biased. The rectifier has two operating modes: “Controlled" and "Non-Controlled". In the "Controlled" mode, all diodes are driven by external control signals. This allows the external signals to control the current and voltage of the output. The "Non-Controlled" mode is the normal rectifier mode of operation.Advantages
