The working principle of the IDT2309NZ-1HDC8 is based on clock/timing buffering and driving. It can take an input signal, buffer and drive that signal via an output buffer, allowing it to be routed to multiple downstream devices, such as multiplexers, switches, DSPs (Digital Signal Processors), and FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays). The IC incorporates three programmable delay lines, twelve programmable frequency dividers, eight output-side registers and dedicated off-chip references inputs.The IDT2309NZ-1HDC8 has an integral oscillator, making it well suited for use as an independent clock source for applications where no external oscillator is available. As an oscillator, it can generate a stable reference frequency in the range of 100 Hz to 1 GHz. Furthermore, it has an on-chip frequency multiplier, making it possible to generate frequencies which are multiples of the input reference frequency.The device supports up to 3 free-running output clocks and 12 division clocks. This makes it possible to precisely control the frequency and phase offset of each of the clocks. It also supports loopback test mode and bit error rate testing. It can be used in synchronous and asynchronous clock systems, such as Phase-Locked Loops (PLLs).Finally, the IDT2309NZ-1HDC8 comes with built-in ESD protection to help protect it and the device it is connected to from ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) events.In summary, the IDT2309NZ-1HDC8 is an ideal solution for clocking and timing applications.
