An IKA15N65ET6XKSA2 is a high-voltage insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) designed for use in power conversion and motor control applications. The device is a single-package IGBT designed to maximize power density and minimize system costs. It features an industry-proven copper clip-bonding concept, optimized for low thermal impedance and high performance. The device also features a low-inductance snap-mountable TO-297-2L package, which is suitable for high-density power conversion systems.

The device has two terminals: the collector (C) and the emitter (E). When a voltage is applied between the C and E terminals, in the forward direction (positive at C, negative at E), the device acts as a switch, allowing current to flow between C and E. In the reverse direction (positive at E, negative at C), the device operates in a blocking state.

The turn-on and turn-off of the device is controlled by a gate (G) terminal, which is electrically isolated from the C and E terminals. An externally applied voltage on the Gate controls the on/off state of the device. When the Gate voltage is positive relative to the E (gate-source) terminal, the IGBT is turned on and current flows from C to E. A negative voltage causes the device to turn off and blocks current flow. The higher the applied Gate voltage, the lower the device\'s internal ON resistance.

The IKA15N65ET6XKSA2 has low-voltage drive requirements of 6.0V – 8.0V, fast switching speeds with short circuit rating for hard switching applications and a nominal voltage range of 600V.
