The IP2001TR is a high efficiency, positive input-output voltage, DC DC switching regulator, which can deliver up to 5 A of output source current. This step-down regulator features a very low output voltage ripple, low power loss and fast transient response. This is due to its advanced Buck switching architecture and advanced Digital Negative Current Collimation System (DNSCCS) technology.

The IP2001TR also includes integrated circuit protection features that help protect the regulator from subjected overload conditions. These features include over-voltage protection (OV) as well as over-current limiting (OTL) and over-temperature protection (OTP).

When the IP2001TR is properly applied, the input voltage can be higher than the output voltage, making it an ideal choice for applications such as portable data recorders, wired thin-film display monitors, wireless remote peripherals and displays, or wireless networking applications where the input voltage must be higher than the output voltage.

The working principle of the IP2001TR is as follows:
