The IRKT92/06A is a high voltage, insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) module. It is designed to handle high frequency power electronics applications that require both high voltage and current ratings. The IRKT92/06A has a wide operating temperature range, and a highly reliable, hard-switched circuit design. It is capable of delivering up to 8A of continuous current.

The IRKT92/06A employs an IGBT complex, which consists of two insulated gate bipolar transistors mounted inside one package. The IGBT complex is used to control the current flowing through the module, and is connected to a Gate Driver to turn the module on and off. By controlling the current with the IGBT, the module can switch faster and save energy compared to other switching methods.

The IRKT92/06A has two working principles: Freewheeling and Miller capacitance. In 90% of applications, the Freewheeling principle is used, which involves connecting the module to one side of a power source and switching it on and off. When the module is switched on, it will generate a voltage gradient across the terminals, while when it is switched off, the internal Miller capacitance will store the charge generated by the power source and release it to the load when the module is switched back on.

The Miller capacitance principle requires the module to be connected to both sides of the power source, allowing it to control both the current conducting and the voltage level across the load. When the module is switched on, current will flow through the load, while when it is switched off, the internal Miller capacitance will store the charge generated by the power source and release it to the load when it is switched back on.

The IRKT92/06A can be used in a wide range of high voltage and high frequency power electronics applications, such as motor drives, machine tools, welding equipment, HVDC systems, AC/DC converters, power grids, transportation systems, and more. It is highly reliable, thanks to its hard-switched circuit design and wide operating temperature range.
