The IRMCK312TR is a member of the IRMCK322/332TR family of Power Management ICs (PMIC) designed for motor drivers, controllers and other motor control applications. The device features integrated FET­driver, logic level translator, high­side/low­side N­Channel FETs, current­limit regulator, charge pump and voltage regulator, making it ideal for a wide variety of motor control applications. The IRMCK312TR enables applications to be operated in a wide range of voltage supply conditions. The device provides both low side and high side switches and a logic level translator for driving motors in wide range of conditions and supply voltages. It provides three ways to connect the switches: the internal FET driver, a software configurable logic level translator or a two­wire serial communication port. The FET driver features a class D high­power current mode capable of driving up to 30 A requested current caused by the power module and MCU. The IRMCK312TR provides a unique current­limit regulator designed to prevent power module damage when load current exceeds the design specifications. It automatically limits the load current to a safe level, and features an external diode for faster response time.The IRMCK312TR also features built­in load balancing that can compensate for variations in load current caused by the use of variable­torque motors. This is accomplished through the use of a class AB mechanical­load balancing algorithm. It measures the amount of time required for the load current to reach the target value, and adjusts the PWM duty cycle to maintain the requested current level. The IRMCK312TR also incorporates a unique charge pump technology which allows for smoother motor operation under dynamic load conditions. The charge pump circuit ensures that the load parameters are dynamically adjusted to maintain the output voltage level during high­speed transitions.The IRMCK312TR includes an integrated voltage regulator to provide regulated supply voltage to the motor controller. The voltage regulator supports  regulated output voltages from 2.7 to 8.0 V, allowing applications to be designed using a wide range of voltage levels for both analog and digital circuits. The voltage regulator provides stable regulator performance and control loop response in a wide range of load and environmental conditions.The IRMCK312TR is ideal for applications where reliability is critical, such as motor control, power control, and lighting control. It provides a complete solution in a small package, with high level of integration for efficient design and reduced component cost. The device is capable of controlling several motors in parallel, allowing for smooth and precise control of the motor under all operating conditions.
