Evaluation and demonstration boards and kits are fundamental equipment necessary for implementation of diagnostic, troubleshooting, and a range of other technical tasks in the lab. Among them is the IRPLHID2A, an infrared (IR) light source module that’s mostly used in signal source and data signal transmission. Its basic features and function include providing an IR signal as an external source of illumination to high dynamic range photosensitive devices - in digital displays, digital projectors, and other enterprise level devices.
IRPLHID2A’s major physical components include a metal enclosure, control board, IR panel array, LED, driver board, and power input socket. The control board, which acts as the main power supply for the module, contains features such as aperture adjustability, contrast and LED brightness. It can be powered from resources up to an extra power socket connected to it, and its power output is regulated by an adjustable current switch so as to deliver up to a maximum current rating of 1.2A.
The LED within the module’s structure generates a direct drive current from which a Infra-red (IR) signal is extracted using a suitable infrared panel array positioned right in front of the LED. The IR Panel array present has a total power rating of 4W, and incoming direct current is converted into varying levels of Infra-red intensity which produces an output beam of maximum 500mW. This beam is suitable for transmission over long ranges, such as during outdoor activities, and can support various signal communications processes.
A total of four IR driving modes can be set using the IR panel array, and these are selected depending on the type of application being executed. The module also has connector sockets and pins for complete flexibility during operation, and can be programmed to operate in either continuous or pulsed modes. The maximum output forward current that can be delivered by the module is 700mA, and its spectral wavelength spans from 830nm to 950nm.
Generally, IRPLHID2A application fields include LED displays, transmission and infrared signal processing, laser point sources, fiber optic transmitters, and signal control systems. It’s also applicable in synchrotron radiation control systems, optical storage systems, and motion detection systems. These and other features of the module combine to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient data control. The IRPLHID2A module is thus an indispensable tool for diagnostic and troubleshooting purposes in any environment.
