Working Principle

ISL43144IRZ-T consists of 4 independent input blocks, each of which contains 8 channels of SPDT switches. The CMOS multiplexer provides C-type selection while input/output which allows to accept operation voltage of up to 5.5V. It consists of two toggle flip-flops, used for shifting the control bits around the multiplexer and each is configured to be edge driven, allowing for higher speed. The multiplexer can drive resistive loads up to 30 mA, allowing for faster switching speeds. The multiplexer also features an active low enable input and an active low reset input to control the on-chip shift register.

The operation of ISL43144IRZ-T is very simple. It can be controlled with just a few lines. The first line is the select line to choose which switch is to be used out of the 8 possible switches. The other three lines are used to select which a single switch out of four switches to turn on or off. The base clock line is used to shift the bits out of the shift register so that the state of the switch can be controlled. Finally, the control signals along with the enable and reset lines are used to control when the multiplexer is on or off.
