The ISL43144IVZ is a general-purpose high-speed, low-voltage, high-current dual 4-channel N-channel analog switch. It is offered in a 6mmx6mm QFN-36 package and is pin compatible with other switches from the ISL4314x family. The product has two input/output (I/O) channels of four switches in a single package. The ISL43144IVZ is digital-to-analog selector switch capable of switching signals between digital or analog input sources or output loads. It can be used as an analog switch or multiplexer/demultiplexer with a voltage range up to ±10 V. The product is designed for reliable operation in automotive, privacy/identity theft, consumer audio applications, consumer video equipment, and critical signal paths in test and measurement.

ISL43144IVZ Working Principle

The device has two 4-channel (D0-D3 and S0-S3, respectively) analog switches. It operates as a two-channel multiplexer or demultiplexer depending on the configuration. The device contains four separate single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) analog switches which operate independently. Each switch is composed of two N-channel MOSFETs fabricated using innovative low-voltage process technology. The D0- D3 and S0-S3 channels can be used for selecting one of multiple analog signals to a single output or for routing a single signal to one of multiple receivers.

The control (S) pins of the switches are TTL and CMOS compatible. Each channel can be independently controlled, and each can be assigned with a different logic level to turn “on” or “off” the switch. The “on” resistance (RDSON) and the “off” resistance (RDSOFF) are very low and the charge injection is minimal due to the low-voltage process technology.

The ISL43144IVZ is ideal for applications where high-speed switching and excellent signal to noise ratio is required, such as video and audio switching and buffering. Additionally, it is also capable of providing low static power dissipation due to its low “on” resistance (45Ω maximum—at 15V) and low capacitance.
