The ISL6141CB hot swap controller is designed to control the power supply of a wide variety of electronic devices and systems. Featuring a low quiescent current consumption, a wide input voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V, and an adjustable power-good output voltages (VPG) ranging from 0.9V to VIN, the ISL6141CB controller is ideal for high power applications.

The ISL6141CB is able to differentiate between a short circuit, a power failure, or a lack of external power source, and can then accurately take the necessary measures. Some of the applications for this device include but are not limited to:

The ISL6141CB hot swap controller uses an integrated control loop circuit to monitor the excitation voltage supplied by an external power supply. When the voltage exceeds the pre-set level, either high or low, the power good (PG) output is modified. This output is used to inform the system of the power condition available for operation. Additionally, the ISL6141CB includes an over-temperature (OT) input pin, which can be used to senses when the device\'s temperature is beyond the pre-set value.

The ISL6141CB also offers several other features, such as the ability to control the inrush current during power-up and the ability of sinking large output currents. The ISL6141CB offers an adjustable power-good delay time for the output voltage to rise above the pre-set voltage level. This delay is adjustable from 0.032ms to 32ms.

The ISL6141CB hot swap controller features an integrated circuit design which eliminates the need for external resistors and capacitors. Its advanced protection features make it ideal for use in system applications where protection against over-voltage, current, and/or temperature conditions is required. It is designed to offer high reliability and low power dissipation in applications such as power communication interface, computer systems and peripherals, AC/DC adapter power supplies, laptop and notebook computer power supplies, tablet PCs and PDAs.
