Working Principle

The ISL61851JCBZ is a power controller featuring X-Tolerance™ technology which provides a controlled power-up and power-down sequence. The controller is designed to protect the system against shorts and overvoltage by monitoring the voltage, current and temperature at both the output and the load.During the power-up sequence, the controller turns on the power at a safe and controlled rate. When the voltage reaches the predetermined setpoint the controller switches to constant voltage mode, limiting the voltage at the output. This mode will reduce the output current to a safe level by slowly reducing the current. If a fault is detected, the controller will reset itself and repeat the power up and shutdown sequences.
