The ISL6236AIRZ is a high-performance special purpose voltage regulator from Intersil’s family of Low Power CMOS Voltage Regulators. It is primarily used for low power mobile system such as cell phones, PDAs, digital cameras and medical devices, to ensure efficient power conversion from battery to the core voltage ICs.The ISL6236AIRZ consists of a high-performance negative charge pump and controller for a negative output voltage, and with current limiting, short-circuit, undervoltage lockout and thermal shutdown protection. The output voltage is preset at a nominal value of 1.25V.

Working Principle

The ISL6236AIRZ voltage regulator is a multifunctional power supply, combining a low-dropout voltage regulator and an adjustable charge pump. When in active regulation mode, incoming energy is converted to regulated output voltage. The charge pump charges the output capacitor through active (synchronous) and passive elements. The charge pump circuit also generates the control signals required to operate the step-down converter.
