The ISL6296ADRUZ-T is a parameter-controlled battery management device that works in a battery stack system to control charger parameters such as voltage, current and temperature, to monitor battery series cell voltage and protect the system against damage caused by short-circuit, over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature.The ISL6296ADRUZ-T is a multi-channel, multi-phase Buck regulator with active cell balancing. It utilizes a simple two-wire serial interface to command and control all the parameters that it integrates. A unique auto-voltage control algorithm eliminates the need for any manual configuration, simplifying the design process.For the active cell balancing feature, the device balances the cell to the level set by the command interface. It utilizes current sensing from the chips back-side sense resistor and SPI command interface to adjust the charging current accordingly.For security, ISL6296ADRUZ-T includes multiple fault monitoring circuits and protect the system from over-voltage, over-current, reverse-current and over-temperature.
